Earth is showing signs of awakening! Winter snow brought much needed water and nitrogen to the soil. Artists have busily worked in their cozy homes through the short and cold days, invigorated by the beauty outside.
Now crocuses peak out of the frozen ground, the Sugar Maple sap is flowing, the poultry ladies are producing eggs again, and it is about time to sow the first of our vegetable seeds yet again. March is here!
The 2020 season has come to an end. The earth will take a much needed rest, while gardeners put their beds to sleep and re-organize their equipment and supplies. But the fun never stops for those who have the ‘production bug’; instead, this is a time for farmers to research new fruits and vegetables while planning and scheming for next year, and a time for crafters to cozy up and build their stock of wares. Enjoy the holidays and winter’s charms, and we’ll look forward to catching up next June when the Logansport Farmers Market resumes.
In addition to Saturdays, the Farmers Market has been in Logansport every Wednesday and will continue in the midweek through the end of September. However, for October, we will be closed on Wednesday. Be sure to stop by on Saturday instead. We will look forward to seeing you then!
Because sweet corn is ready for you! That’s right, a couple of our local growers have sweet corn ready to sell at Market. Stop by for this Indiana treat!
That’s right, some of our local growers have tomatoes ripe and ready for sale at Farmer’s Market! Be sure to come to Market Early so you can get them early before they sell out!
Despite the extremely unusual year, the Logansport Farmers Market will be opening on June 6th, 2020. We believe that open air markets are a critical part of keeping people healthy while they shop for produce and baked goods. And we are happy to do our part.
Be sure to visit us between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm to get your share of healthy, local food, and healthy, outdoor air!
